Normally, Google isn’t so public about their shaming of those who go against their webmaster guidelines. But last week, I guess Gary Illyes from Google was feeling differently when he called out a company for selling links. He did so on Twitter and made sure all his followers were able to see it.
Here is the tweet:
. @webdirectlinks , how much for a link?
— Gary Illyes ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ (@methode) March 24, 2017
He put the period before the @name in order to make sure all his followers saw the tweet.
This does not mean that this company has been penalized or will be penalized but clearly they are on Google’s radar and if I was part of this company, I’d be a bit nervous.
The company has not seemed to respond to Gary’s tweet. But they are fairly active on Twitter, mostly around thanking people for following them.
There web site is pretty much a blank page without much information but I guess that doesn’t mean they aren’t running a business off of Google’s link network.
Forum discussion at Twitter.
