Google’s Gary Illyes is still on the DYK tweet theme but this last one is a good one to highlight. Gary recommended that you try to reach the content on your web pages out loud. If it doesn’t read nicely and sounds strange, then it probably won’t rank as well he said.
Here is his tweet:
DYK if you read out loud the text on your page and it doesn’t sound natural, that piece of text may weigh much less during ranking pic.twitter.com/IfXMKB1GFg

Of course, for native English speakers, this is way easier. For those of you who are not born speaking English, like Gary, it might be harder. Of course, there are people who write content and never read it after it is published (shame, shame – see what I did there?).
In any event, it is a good practice. I am not sure we can say that content that is not read out loud would rank lower. It is not like Google Home or Pixel devices are waiting to listen to see if you are reading your content out loud to give you a ranking boost.
It is just common sense.
