This week in search, I posted the monthly Google webmaster report for you all to catch up with. Some SEO think they saw a Penguin 4.0 reversal. Google has dropped the knowledge graph snippet overlay feature. Google’s page layout algorithm is automated and doesn’t need a manual run. Google is still trying to figure out the mobile index. Google said having rich snippets doesn’t mean all Google algorithms think your site is quality. Yandex launched their flavor of RankBrain named Palekh. Google sitelinks demotion tool didn’t work for six months prior to it being turned off. Google’s algorithms do not prefer WordPress. Google said requesting a crawl doesn’t hurt your rankings. Google said Wikipedia is good at getting links to internal pages. Google said it is safe to remove links in the disavow once the links are gone. Google is testing a back to top button in the mobile results. Now you can finally disable AdWords automated ad extensions yourself. That is this past week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable.
