Google: There Is Not Limit To How Many Times A URL Can Show On First Page

Most of you know this already but Google’s domain diversity doesn’t have a feature that says a URL or site can only show on the first page of Google X number of times. Google’s John Mueller confirmed that on Twitter last night after being presented with an example that has a single site showing up several times for a query on the first page.

John Mueller wrote “there’s no hard limit on the number of times a site can appear in a search results page set.”

Some queries, espesially the more long tail and unique, can show a site multiple times on the first page of the Google results.

Google has tweaked their domain diversity sets over the years dozens of times. There is no perfect solution.
